I live in rural Ohio on a 1 acre lot and have had a smaller Troy-Bilt zero-turn for over 15 years. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever, and the poor thing was on its last legs, with my desire to mow in general also on the downswing. Apprehensively, I began looking into replacement zero-turn mowers and while doing so realized that as of very recently Walmart was now selling battery powered robotic mowers.

Obviously, I was skeptical at first. When I had heard about robotic mowers in the past it always seemed like such a hassle with needing to bury a guide wire. Not only that, it frankly seemed like more of a "city" product with the intended lot size being far below an acre, along with the price being very high.

I made this forum because I think the situation is changing. You no longer need to set up any guide wires, max lot sizes have gone way up, and best of all the price has gone way down. What used to cost over $3000 is now being sold at Walmart for half that or less. A company called Greenworks launched their "AiMowbot" exclusively at Walmart, with the 1/2 acre C20 model at $1000 and the 1 acre C40 model at $1500.

I purchased the C40 model for my 1 acre lot - and while the hardware is great, in my opinion the software and app still has a ways to go. I want it to succeed, because I think it's great, but I think that many will not have the patience for it. I will try to document what errors I run into and what they mean, along with tips and tricks.
